In 1882, Patriarch 2 donated land for the establishment of a school in Balat district but he died without seeing that his school could not be completed. The new Patriarch, named again Yoakim, resumed his studies at the school and is opened for education in 1882 which The Greek Girls' High School is called YUVAKIMYON RUM KIZ LİSESİ. In a short time the school is renowned for the quality of its education. Not only from Istanbul, but from abroad students begin to take. Many of their graduates become teachers, and they start to teach at other Greek schools in Istanbul. In 1910, the number of students reached 590. In 1988, there are no students to attend and is closed.
